Session I Data Analytics for IT Assurance
Organizations face challenging complexity when managing risk related to achieving IT objectives. Disruptions in technology and environment add to the complexity. GRC tools and solutions may help to document policies, track audit procedures, and report on compliance, but do not replace an aligned approach for governance that uses a common language and understanding of risk, driven by data. How can assurance professionals, organizational managers, and regulators leverage data analytics to support effective IT risk management and cybersecurity? This presentation provides an overview of practices for using data analytics to enhance and enable assurance over IT objectives.
After attending this presentation, participants will understand:
- Understand concepts in data analytics related to IT assurance
- Identify components of a conceptual framework for providing data-driven insights and recommendations
- Recognize issues and obstacles for using analytics in assurance along with some potential solutions
