Session I Arms Race: Building Value and Trust in Cybersecurity Risk Management Programs

Summary

Increasing rates of change in technology developments and disruptions present challenges for today’s organizations. Keeping up with the latest high-profile cyber-attacks, new threats and vulnerabilities, new means of defense, and fluid strategic objectives requires continuous monitoring and adaptation by cybersecurity teams and professionals.

Speaker Bio

Roberto Valdez, CPA, CISA, is a Manager with Kaufman Rossin’s Risk Advisory Services and has over nine years of experience in providing accounting and consulting services to public and private companies as well as governmental entities.

Roberto performs advisory and assurance engagements that include SOC 1, 2, and 3; IT risk assessments; phishing simulations; and engagements addressing compliance with requirements under HIPAA, FINRA, and SOX 404. Engagements have included multiple industries: utilities, manufacturing, retail, not-for-profit organizations, financial services, banks, technology, healthcare, and employee benefit plans.

He earned his Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of North Texas and his Master’s in Accounting from Florida Atlantic University. He is also an adjunct professor for Florida Atlantic University’s College of Business.
